The Twits
Malvern Theatre Players (Resident Company of the Coach House Theatre) 39th Season
THE TWITS
adapted by David Wood from the book by Roald Dahl
This amateur production of The Twits is presented by special arrangement with Samuel
French Ltd.
The Twits are a revolting couple. Mr Twit is a foul, smelly old man and Mrs Twit is a mean,
one-eyed old woman. They love to annoy one another with silly jokes and dirty tricks.
However, their worst habit is being cruel to animals. So one day, the Muggle-Wump
monkeys and the Roly-Poly Bird team up and turn the hateful world of the Twits completely
upside down!
David Wood’s faithful dramatisation of Roald Dahl’s story is a marvellous mix of singing,
dancing, comedy, slapstick and audience participation.
The Twits is an uplifting story through its themes of conservation, animal rights and
injustice. South Wales Echo
Glorious participation of shouting, chanting and shoe waving as the audience “helps” the
monkeys to escape. The Stage and TV Today
