We meet Jess and Elsie in the local pub. Everything is the same as it was when they were sixteen and dreaming of leaving their small rural town for bigger and better things. But they’re not sixteen anymore, they’re not sat in a field drinking hooch and they never left. Beneath their reminiscing and the quiet ache for paths not taken lies something else. What does it take to be heard in a community bound by trust where everyone knows everyone? If each tiny decision shapes everything that follows, how can you know if you’ve done the right thing?

Wingbeat is a story of girlhood, silence and the cost of breaking it.
