Returning home late one night a merchant takes shelter in a castle. As he leaves the next morning, he takes a rose to give to his daughter Belle. But just then the master appears, a creature half man and half beast, telling the merchant he must choose between dying or having one of his three daughters come to live in the castle. The selfless Belle agrees to go, against her father’s wishes. Once there, the Beast assures her she will come to no harm, but she must meet him once a day at 7pm in the dining room. Every day he asks her to marry him but she refuses. Love grows between them however, leading to a magical resolution.
